Description:
Libraries across the country are incorporating gaming in their programming, hoping to draw new users. Bartlett, an avid board gamer, set out to design a tabletop program for adults at her public library with a clear purpose in mind: run completely on donations, showcase games, get her FLGS, The Portal of Manchester, CT involved, and act as an advocate for gaming in libraries. With this, Bartlett created a game library of 100 titles, brand new and donated from publishers, worked with her FLGS, Bryan Raddatz and spouse, Matthew Bartlett to feature four learn to play games each month for participants, and shaped perhaps the most popular and best attended adult board gaming group in a library in Connecticut. Hear why and how FLGS and board game publishers can and should get involved with their local library programs, as well as tips for librarians in setting up a program at their library.
