OBJECTIVES: Find the survey report; Stop the information about the Halloweeners' tunnel from getting out; Alter the report to make the area appear inhospitable.
Description:
MR. JOHNSON’S PITCH
Unfortunately for the Halloweeners, a survey team,
hired by Bellevue mayor Jonathan Blake, discovered the
Halloweeners’ tunnel while scouting the area for a future
Saeder-Krupp facility. The runners are hired by Absinthe,
the Halloweeners’ second-in-command, to track
down the survey team, ensure their silence, and make
sure the survey report mentions nothing of the tunnel.
Absinthe will pay extra if they are able to alter the report
so that Mayor Blake and Saeder-Krupp no longer want to
build anywhere close.
As a street gang Halloweeners are not the richest
organization in the world, but their secret is important
enough that they will pay runners 5 Karma to help them
keep it.
OBJECTIVES: Infiltrate the Light Within; Solidify the fire spirit's power base; Discredit Warwick Gulliver & escape.
Description:
MR. JOHNSON’S PITCH Your fixer hooks you up with an unusual Mr. Johnson— a free fire spirit. The fire spirit forgoes small talk and begins: “The Light Within is a religious group that believes that the Great Light Spirit communes with the world’s chosen few, by which they mean themselves, and grants them prophetic visions and ecstatic worship experiences. Recently, their group has been growing exponentially larger because their deity, that aforementioned Great Light Spirit, has been appearing physically among them. Here’s the thing—the Great Light Spirit is me.
OBJECTIVES: Move the ball & score; Defend your goal at all times; Maimings, knock-outs, & injuries are fine, but any deaths disqualify the offending team. No killing!; Get away from the cops!
Description:
MR. JOHNSON’S PITCH
The major league sport, urban brawl, began as a way for
street gangs to settle their differences with ritualized,
somewhat restrained violence. As a handful of gangs
sold out into cutthroat affairs with chapters all over
the world—criminal enterprises concerned with profit,
rivaling organized crime syndicates—others have backslid,
with smaller outfits concerning themselves with
romanticized notions of respect, community protection,
and loyalty.
Urban brawl as ritualized violence, a sort of
sports-fueled trial of champions, has had a minor
resurgence in recent years among these small-scale
gangs. The Alder Street Avengers are one such small
gang, with a scheduled brawl-bout against their rivals,
Red’s Rhymers, for dominance over half a city block.
The Rhymers tagged over some Avenger graffiti, and
this sort of insult can’t stand!
OBJECTIVES: Get into the NeoNET facility; Gain access to Mr. Singh despite his security team; Grab the prototype & get away.
Description:
MR. JOHNSON’S PITCH
This job’s an extraction, plain and simple. Mr. Johnson
wants a prominent researcher to be safely taken from
the grasping hands of a rival corporation (along with his
prototype reflex enhancement research), and is willing
to pay the runners good money to get the job done. After
the researcher—Jeremiah Singh—is clear of his NeoNET
employers, get him to a pre-determined location for the
transfer, and payment of 6 Karma will be made in full.
OBJECTIVES: Gain access to Tir na nog; Find & retrieve the Fairy Flag.
Description:
MR. JOHNSON’S PITCH
“Hello, I’m Mr. Johnson. I’d like to hire ye for a retrieval
job—six Karma is in it for you if you succeed. An artifact
known as the Fairy Flag was taken by from Scotland’s
Dunvegan Castle by operatives from Tír na nÓg. You
must sneak into Tír na nÓg, track down the Flag, and
bring it back to me.
“Getting into the Tír isn’t easy, but I can help. Off the
coast of Northern Ireland sits a series of basalt columns
called the Giant’s Causeway. They head toward Scotland,
then disappear into the water. There’s a counterpart off
the Scottish coast.
“Head to the Isle of Staffa, where the Causeway connects
to Scotland. A contact of mine, Green Gretchen,
has an amulet called Fingal’s Ring that can summon a
mystical bridge that completes the path to Tír na nÓg.”
OBJECTIVES: Find the person selling the laser; Follow the laser into Kowloon; Defeat ambush & escape.
Description:
MR. JOHNSON’S PITCH
A grizzled ork fixer named William “Bull” MacCallister
looks the runners in the eyes.
“Back in 2056, me and a few notable shadowrunners
were hired to infiltrate the Ares Hong Kong facility
and steal a prototype laser sniping cannon. I normally
wouldn’t take runs that took so much travel, but I had
to pay off an old debt. Unfortunately, because of some
embarrassing events, another shadowrunner team ended
up taking the laser out from underneath us.
“Now, I’d like you to help me settle this old debt. I
want that laser. My Matrix search bots picked up chatter
about someone trying to sell a laser that matches the
one I want, so I’m sending you to a market outside of
Hong Kong, by the walled city of Kowloon.”
Bull offers 7 Karma for this job.
OBJECTIVES: Investigate the attack; Track down the Company Man responsible; Get back the NERPS!
Description:
MR. JOHNSON’S PITCH
“That son of a slitch must pay!” Mr. Johnson’s all worked
up tonight, but that’s what happens when you mess with
a metahuman’s NERPS. A dishonest, hard-working, corporate
shark can only take so much before they snap,
and taking someone’s NERPS is a step too far, even in
this dangerous, dog eat dog, world. Johnson’s corporate
rivals sent company men to attack him and took his
briefcase with all his NERPS in it. That case has to be
recovered, no matter what, and Mr. Johnson will pay 6
Karma to make that happen.
OBJECTIVES: Relax for once (just kidding!); Role-play & look into what everyone's favorite snacks say about them; Survive the robbery, & try not to spill your tasty beverage.
Description:
THERE’S NO MR. JOHNSON
Food Fight is meant to be a quick, combat-heavy, whirlwind
that you throw the players into as an introductory
adventure (to test out new characters or Anarchy conversions),
or that you add to an existing Shadowrun, hitting
them when their armor is chewed up, they’re beat down,
and they’re least expecting it.
OBJECTIVES: Break into the ACHE. Gain access to basement; Install program code onto nuclear reactor network; Collect data & escape.
Description:
MR. JOHNSON’S PITCH
“My employer, Shiawase Corporation, has made a bid to
purchase the ACHE. As a show of good faith, they have
offered to provide a containment unit around it, to facilitate
renovation without danger to the community. This
dome prevents communication in or out, and has a contained
EMP to shut down any cybernetic threats.
“My employer wants to take inventory of the arcology
and its systems before work begins. Unfortunately,
the UCAS government occupies the underground levels,
where the nuclear reactors are located.
“You will break into the lowest levels, get past the
UCAS soldiers, and install a program code onto the nuclear
reactor network. The program will diagnose and record
relevant info for twenty-four hours. When finished,
collect the data and get out.”
If the runners deliver the data to Mr. Johnson, they
are promised payment of 6 Karma.
MR. JOHNSON’S PITCH
Mr. Johnson hires the runners for a simple smash and
grab. He represents a local jewelry store that wants its
competition crippled. The runners are hired to break
into Diamond Lux Jewelry and steal as much as possible.
For this simple job, the runners are offered 3 Karma.
