October 1962: reconnaissance flights photographed Soviet ballistic missiles being made ready in Cuba and indications of a huge build-up of Soviet forces on that imprisoned island, despite Soviet assurances that the relationship was economic only. These missiles carry nuclear warheads, are in range of all major US population centers and are unstoppable after launch. How do you respond to the most massive Russian overseas military deployment in history, targeted directly at you? Take a role in the senior US staff, such as JFK, Curtis Lemay and Robert McNamara.
