Don’t talk about dead characters, play them! Bring your favorite departed PC then stand with (and against) other late heroes in an all-out competition to be the new Planar Champion.
Description:
Players will provide a “soul” (any character, any edition, subject to DM approval). Dead PCs will be fitted with a 3.5 "dead hero" template (to equalize competitors; the gods want a fair fight) and brought before divine and diabolical spectators where the tournament will be explained. Players will then outfit themselves in the tournament “locker room” for the tests they expect to face. Alliances and teams are allowed, as is nearly anything else in your quest to prove yourself to the greater powers, but there can be only one Planar Champion. Emphasis (as always) is on appeasing and glorifying the deities so your role playing can be as important as your roll playing - personal combat will not be the only factor. The Planar Champion will have the option to return in successive years to defend the title against whatever upstart fodder the gods see fit to dredge up…
