Learn (or relearn) to play. Perfect for new players, even those without miniature or tabletop experience.
Description:
This is an hour-long event that will teach you to play the game using the standard rules that we use in all our other games (not intro, quick-start, or shortened rules) and will give you an overview of the greater Battletech universe and miniatures gaming hobby. Each player will use only one mech on a one vs. one battle against the person sitting opposite them on a basic map sheet. As a group, the GM will walk the players through each step of the turn process and introduce the universe/gaming hobby. After a couple turns done step by step with the GM, players will try to complete more turns against each other with the GM there to provide help and clarity as needed. Once you have completed this event players are encouraged to keep learning by playing in the Battletech Grinder.

This is our most popular event for all ability levels. This casual game plays continuously all convention.
Description:
You start with the lowest level mech with the most basic equipment. When you die you move up to the next level which contains mechs with slightly more advanced equipment. Through this progression you learn how to use all the common equipment in Battletech. This game is not paused or restarted at event breaks, we just add/remove players and collect tickets for those continuing then continue play without resetting the board or players continuing on into the next session. Sign-up for as many blocks as fit into your schedule (even if they are not contiguous), you will receive a report card as a way to sort of "save" your progress so you can come back later in the con and continue playing. All ability levels are welcome but if you have never played Battletech before it is recommended that you play Battletech Bootcamp first.
