Make your very own shadow puppet with Jim Napolitano. Jim's work has been seen on Nickelodeon (Stick Stickley), Disney (Book of Pooh), and PBS (Between the Lions). Participants will create and perform simple shadow puppets with simple easy-to-acquire materials. Additional information will be presented that will allow further exploration of shadow puppetry beyond the workshop.

Description:
Create your own scarf marionette using a square of fabric, five balls, and a few well placed strings. Learn basic movements like walking, dancing, and flying and learn how to link the movements together in a sequence. Participants will have time to explore the different movements of the puppet under guidance from the instructor, Christine Dempsey, and share their discoveries with the group in a marionette dance party. No sewing experience is required, but being able to thread a needle is a plus!
