The nightmare of a Soviet surprise attack is happening. WP & NATO doctrine will clash on the battlefield. But this is not 1988; back the technology back 50 years, to 1938! 15mm armor.
Description:
As the morning fogs slowly burns off, in central Germany, the sounds of thousands of vehicles can be heard. Sporadic gun fire rings outs from time to time, accompanied by fireballs somewhere in the mist. Advancing overnight from their staging areas, the Warsaw Pact forces have crossed the border, in force. Many of us remember the real threat we lived with, on a daily basis, in the 70’s and 80’s. The nightmare of a Soviet surprise attack is happening. WP and NATO doctrine will clash on the battlefield, and leave only one victor. But this is not 1988; back the technology back 50 years, to 1938. Can the American Combat Cars, stop the Soviet BT 7’s? Which new prototype weapons can swing the balance? (15mm armor)

On June 22, 1941, Hitler launched his armies eastward in a massive invasion of the Soviet Union: three great army groups with over three thousand tanks smashed across the frontier into Soviet territory. By this point German combat effectiveness had reached its apogee; in training, doctrine, and fighting ability, the forces invading Russia represented the finest army to fight in the twentieth century.

On 14 June, Auchinleck authorized Ritchie to withdraw from the Gazala line. The 2nd RTR/7/7 has been kept in reserve and is the only full strength regiment left in 8th Army. Their mission is to clear a path for the retreating 50th (Northumbrian) Division. It is known that the Italians have formed a blocking position along the trail. The strongpoint must be taken. You are strongly urged to counter-attack to the west, exploit the absence of German tanks and break through to Marsa Matruh.

On May 12th, 1940, General Gamelin has given the Cavalry Corps the mission to execute a delaying battle, somewhere between Gembloux and, to prevent the enemy from reaching the Gembloux area until the eighth day of an invasion and to allow the 1st Army sufficient time to dig in. The Cavalry Corps had included the 3e DLM, recently constituted on 1 February, manned with reservists and still insufficiently trained. Nevertheless, still considered this force sufficient to either contest a river-crossing at Maastricht, or wage a maneuver battle or, as a third alternative, defend an improvised line. What follows next is the first clash between German and French armor doctrine and equipment.

WW2 micro-armor in the western desert, April 1943.
Description:
After the Mareth Line in southern Tunisia had been outflanked by the "left-hook" attack through the Tebaga Gap, Axis forces had managed to avoid being trapped and had withdrawn to the Wadi Akarit, north of Gabès. This position had been identified long before by Erwin Rommel as a preferred defensive position; he had unsuccessfully argued with his superiors for a controlled withdrawal to it immediately after the Second Battle of El Alamein. He argued that it was the best opportunity for his forces to hold off the Eighth Army and thus prolong Axis presence in Africa.
