The Darkness of Bromhead Manor by Geoff Skellams.The Maxwell children have come with their deathly ill mother to Bromhead Manor. It was hoped their mother's estranged half-brother could do something to alleviate their mother's condition and bring her back to health. But instead of a caring, kindly old man, they found their uncle to be a snarling, reclusive man, who locks himself in the western wing of the Manor, a place he has forbidden the children to explore. Strange things have started happening in the Manor, things that have the servants talking in hushed tones and refusing to elaborate. For the children, the house has become a place of fear, as they slowly lose hope of their mother ever recovering. Will they be able to overcome the Darkness of Bromhead Manor?
