Black Hat is a hacker themed, card-driven board game for two to six players. The game has a board with spaces that are named in accordance with the theme – Gateway, User Account, Root Access, E-mail Account, etc. Players begin the game with two pawns; one each in two starting spaces, the Public Server and the Backdoor. Players move pawns along routes between the starting spaces and a Critical Assets space that represents the target of the hack; when a pawn reaches that space the game ends. Players move pawns on the board by winning tricks in card play; the winner of a trick moves either one of their own pawns or another player’s pawn if that pawn is on one of the three Root Access spaces.
