A beginner-level class introducing participants to burlesque Persona, Aesthetic Presentation, the Reveal, the Tease, and more. In this part mini-lecture, part choreography workshop you’ll develop a short routine of your own to reveal in the bedroom or on a stage. Participants should wear something that makes you feel your best and should bring an ‘outer layer’—ideally something that zips, snaps, or buttons—to use for practicing striptease techniques. This class can be taken alone or paired with Burlesque 102: Dance Intensive. This class is available to participants ages 18+ of all genders and body types.

Burlesque Dance Intensive: Learn a pre-choreographed burlesque routine in a fun, friendly ‘dance class’ setting.
Description:
Learn a pre-choreographed burlesque routine from beginning to end. An active, movement-focused class that will have you on your feet for a full hour. Participants should wear comfortable clothing in which they feel their best and bring a pair of gloves (evening gloves or lightweight fall/winter gloves are fine) and an outler later that sips, snaps, or buttons down the front. Participants may wear high heels but it is not required. This class puts in to motion many of the concepts explored in Burlesque 101: Elements of Burlesque, but can be taken on its own. This class is available to participants 18+ of all genders and body types.
Advanced Burlesque Choreography: Take your striptease game to the next level with techniques that will push your creative boundaries.
Description:
Designed for those with some dance and/or burlesque experience looking to take their performance game to the next level. This movement workshop mixes modern dance theory with burlesque gimmick to provide inspiration and guidance for infusing your routines with unique, creative, and innovative movement and storytelling. Returning participants encouraged—this class covers different special topics each year. This class is available to participants ages 18+ of all genders and body types. Our focus will be on utilizing the available light, filling the frame with what's important, eliminating unpleasant backgrounds/distracting elements, and techniques to maximize your brief time with busy cosplayers.
