What Are We Learning Through Role Play? Academics Look Beyond Violence in the Media
Description:
The best research shows that people learn well by playing games. Games are beginning to enter even traditional learning environments as a tool for learning. How does role play fit into this research? What are people learning and why? David Simkins is a long time role player and a PhD candidate in games and learning research at the UW Madison. He will give an overview of the field to date, introduce his own research on morality in role play, and use that as a jumping off point for discussion.
