The Ukiah Library will discuss how they built their gaming collection, inspired teachers, children, and families to come and use their collection, and taught families how to game together.
Description:
This event will discuss how the Ukiah Library built their board, card and video gaming collection, and what we learned along the way. We will discuss how we inspired teachers, children, teens, families and underrepresented community members to come and utilize our collection. We will also discuss some of the tools we used that taught families how to game together through game nights, video game tournaments and the use of tabletop RPGs. This event is for librarians and educators who would like to learn how to build their own gaming collection and receive program ideas to run at their school or library.
