Glaze Painting Techinques for Miniatures - From Underpainting to Finishing
Description:
This class will teach you the basics of using glazes and washes in painting miniatures. We will cover paint properties, priming and underpainting, and the techniques of painting with thin layers of paint, known as glazes and washes. There will be discussion, followed by hands on instruction on all of the steps. The class will provide figures (yours to keep), paints and brushes but feel free to bring your own supplies if you wish.
Learn to use Hirst Arts architectural molds and bricks to make buildings and structures. Learn how to integrate your structures into other pieces of terrain. Use the provided pre-cast Hirst Arts bricks along with other terrain materials to complete your own project and take it with you after the class is complete. All necessary tools and materials will be provided, including items from Woodland Scenics.

If you've had some practice with highlights and shadows, and want to begin experimenting with NMM, this class is perfect for you. There will be a discussion of techniques, with samples, demonstrations, and some hands-on instruction. Reaper Paints will be available for use, and a Reaper miniature will be provided to each person. It is recommended that you bring your own brushes although some brushes will be available.

Topics include color selection, techniques for hair, and facial features & expression. Participants are encouraged to bring their own models for feedback and suggestions, and will receive a technique guide. Paints, some brushes, and some practice minis will be available.
