Immerse yourself in worlds new and familiar with this anthology of all-new stories from Brain Lag authors! Meet the authors and learn more about their stories in this livestreamed event.
Description:
Charging selflessly into danger, facing the mortality of an artificially extended life, plumbing the deepest depths of space, fighting to expose truths others want to keep hidden... This collection of all-new stories from Brain Lag authors features never-before-seen glimpses into favourite worlds as well as new characters and places to love. From starkly beautiful to brashly funny and everything in between, these stories showcase the range of voices Brain Lag has been proud to publish over the years. Why do we tell such tales of hardship and bravery, honesty and reflection? Because in the darkness between the stars, there are no heroes. There are only regular people who step up. THE LIGHT BETWEEN STARS celebrates 10 years of Brain Lag and the authors who we have published. Join owner Catherine Fitzsimmons and various authors to find out more about this exciting new anthology.

Imagining queer game design that goes beyond simply including queer & LGBT+ characters and storylines. This panel is promoting and shouting out the work of queer & LGBT+ game designers.
Description:
How do we shift the focus of the industry from token queer-coded content sprinkled into mass-produced products for social justice points, to games created by queer designers with their own voices, narratives, and perspectives? How do we as queer creators go beyond queerness as set dressing to create games and systems that produce intrinsically queer content? How do we create for ourselves what we need from a market that sees queer content as a business risk? How do we support each other in a straight-dominated industry? Panelists include (may be subject to change): Simon Moody (he/him), Larpwright & Game Designer, @LuchaLibris Ink (they/them, she/her), Artist & Streamer, @TheseDeadPens Adira Slattery (she/her), Game Designer & Podcaster, @AdiraSlattery Taylor LaBresh (he/him), Game Designer & Podcaster, @LeviathanFiles
